Lori's Story

Lori graduated from Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine in 1996 after a short career in the accounting industry.  She started her Physical Therapy career at The Cleveland Clinic rotating through a variety of settings and it is where she developed her love of outpatient orthopedics.

In 2007, Lori accepted a position with Akron Children’s Hospital Center for Orthopedics & Sports Medicine.  In this environment she honed her passion for the adolescent athlete.  Receiving her Pilates Mat Certification helped her develop a focus on core stabilization for spine patients that has become an essential element of her practice for all patients.   She continued to develop her expertise in adolescent sports with training in injury prevention, 3D motion analysis, orthotic fabrication and ACL rehabilitation.

After collaborating with a colleague in the treatment of dancers in 2016, Lori identified a void in the care of these athletes.  She pursued a dance rehabilitation certification from Westside Dance Physical Therapy in NYC and since that time has cultivated a specialty treating dancers, gymnasts and competitive cheerleaders.  She is considered a leader in this area; developing exercises, injury prevention, training for other clinicians and return to sport-specific recommendations.  She has led clinics for Roberts Conservatory of Dance, Flytz Gymnastics and Kent State University’s Center for the Performing Arts.

Lori’s philosophy of care is to not just make her patients feel better, but to “be” better.  She strives to understand their goals, sport-specific requirements and individual biomechanics to empower them to train smarter after leaving her care.  She is passionate about evidence-based practice and makes that a priority in the rehabilitation of her patients.

Lori is a wife and mother of three boys.  She is passionate about her faith, her family and her friends.  She enjoys traveling, cooking, flipping furniture and British crime shows.
