Custom orthotics provide support, alignment, and cushioning to improve foot and ankle function. They are particularly effective for:
Pain Relief: Reducing discomfort in feet, ankles, knees, hips, and back caused by flat feet, plantar fasciitis, overpronation, supination, and other biomechanical conditions.
Improved Biomechanics: Correcting gait and posture for more efficient, pain-free movement.
Injury Prevention: Stabilizing feet and ankles to lower the risk of strains, shin splints, and overuse injuries common in athletes and active adults.
Enhanced Comfort: Providing better support and shock absorption for daily activities, sports, and work.
Management of Conditions: Aiding in the treatment of flat feet, plantar fasciitis, high arches, overpronation, and other foot-related issues.
Based on a comprehensive one-hour evaluation, our licensed physical therapists prescribe a custom orthotic device built specifically for your foot and your activity. During your assessment, we perform a full gait analysis, capturing how your foot moves both statically and dynamically, including:
-
Static alignment and anatomical assessment
-
Mobile gait analysis to evaluate how your foot moves when walking
-
Ankle motion and strength testing
-
A three-dimensional impression of the plantar surface of your foot in a semi-weight-bearing position
We evaluate your goals and regular activity level to design a permanent custom orthotic that fits your foot precisely and supports the way you move, whether you're an athlete, an active adult, or someone dealing with chronic foot pain.

We also provide customized, temporary over-the-counter orthotics for patients who are still growing, need support while recovering from an injury, or require specific support for sport activities. The same thorough assessment is conducted, and we prescribe an in-house insert customized to address your individual findings.
Why Custom Orthotics Instead of Store-Bought Insoles?
Off-the-shelf insoles are designed for the average foot. Custom orthotics are designed for yours.
Most over-the-counter insoles provide generic cushioning or arch support based on broad foot categories. Generic insoles aren't specific to your foot, meaning they don't measure your gait pattern, your alignment, your strength deficits, or the specific demands of your sport or lifestyle.
At Prime PT, our custom orthotic insoles are fabricated after a full biomechanical assessment, not a generic foot scan or foam impression. That means your orthotics are built around how you move, not how the average person moves. The result is a device that can meaningfully address conditions like plantar fasciitis, flat feet, overpronation, shin splints, and chronic knee or hip pain rather than simply providing temporary cushioning.
Pricing
Our pricing model includes both the exam and the cost of the orthotics.
Custom Orthotics - $399
Fully fabricated for your foot based on the assessment described above. Best for adults and athletes with established foot structure who want a precise, long-term solution. Orthotics are delivered in approximately two weeks.
Customized OTC - $299
A more affordable option for patients who are still growing, particularly children and younger adolescents. We use a high-quality pre-made orthotic that is heat-molded and adjusted to your foot during your visit, based on the same thorough assessment process. Since a child's foot continues to change as they grow, a fully custom device often isn't the most practical investment. These orthotics last up to two years, are ready the same day, and provide meaningful support at a lower cost.
*If your insurance provider is in-network, we will bill insurance first. Any leftover cost will be paid out of pocket.
